"I'm hard to remember, but I'm impossible to forget." LaRose Washington (she/her) is extremely honored and grateful that you are here! This production is a dream come true for her, so she can't wait for you to experience her writing, directing, and acting. LaRose received her B.A. in Theatre from the University of Southern California and is repped by BMG Talent. Some of her recent acting credits include: Vinegar Tom (Red Theater), Where the Air Meets The Water (Avalanche Theatre), and Quitter (Broken Nose Theatre). LaRose would like to thank her family, boyfriend, and friends for their constant support through the long journey of making this project. This show is dedicated to y'all. With that being said, she hopes you enjoy her labor of love: Within A Shadow.

Recently she worked with Nothing Without a Company Playing the Role of Echo in switch Hitta by Pen wilder. Prior to that she performed in Footholds vol.5 with The Imposters Theatre Company. Sania is beyond excited to be working with Red theatre and very thankful to be apart of this production!

"Write your story with the pen of the present." TANNER SABOL (he/him) is a professional actor, singer, and coach. He attended the University of North Dakota where he received his B.F.A. in Musical Theatre with an emphasis in acting. He has played roles such as Chuck in She Kills Monsters, Butch in Leading Ladies, and Cat in the Hat in Seussical: The Musical, and has also done coaching for the young actors in his hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Since moving to Chicago, you may have seen him perform as Philippe in Saluting the Sun at the Edge Theatre. Within A Shadow is Tanner's second theatrical production in Chicago and he is incredibly ecstatic to be sharing the stage with such incredibly talented and inspiring individuals! Recent works include Authentic in Die Hard 4 Your Love (Factory Theater), Hades/Theseus in Party at the Pantheon (Factory Theater). Other works include Oberon/Theseus in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Wishing Well Theatre) and Paul in Lane Call: A Night of Closing (Factory Theater). He studied acting at Acting Studio Chicago. Lydia Moss

"Do the best you can with what you know at the time." - My mom Lydia Moss (she/her) is an actor, playwright, and dramaturg who’s called Chicago home since 2020. Her recent acting credits include Celia in As You Like It (Montana Shakespeare in the Schools), Anansi the Spider in Anansi the Spider (ImprovPlayhouse), and Emma in Betrayal (Edge of the Wood Theater). Her other theater interests include scenic painting, theater administration, Shakespeare education, and Theater for Young Audiences. She's collaborated with Definition Theatre and Congo Square Theatre as a dramaturg and playwright, and worked with Porchlight Music Theatre and Buffalo Ensemble Theatre as a scenic charge. She’s excited to join the cast of Within a Shadow for her Red Theater debut!

Originally from Colorado, Will is proud to be a Chicago based actor and theatre artist. Most recently, Will was seen as Hudson Nowell in New Oleanna with The Fat Theatre Project and previously in Wampyrre with Municipal Hole Company and On Either Side of all the Late Unpleasantness with Possibilities Theatre Company. "Peace, Love, Unity and Creativity" Margo Harper, is a native of Chicago. She is a director, actress, playwright, drama instructor, screenwriter, songstress, song writer, performance poet, radio DJ, puppeteer and children’s minister. Margo taught drama for Carlow University Diversity Program and the Community College of Allegheny County, Studied psychology drama and theater at the University of Pittsburgh. She has appeared on TV shows and films. Margo is a member of the gospel group, Cliff Dubose and Divine. She has done national tours and numerous theatrical productions including, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf” (Wilkinsburg Theater, Pittsburgh, PA), “Shakin The Mess Out of Misery” (Kuntu Repertory Theater, Pittsburgh, PA) , “When A Women’s Fed Up” (David PaytonProductions, Charlotte, N. Her most recent credits include Whitney in Die Hard 4 Your Luv and Chorus #1 in Party at the Pantheon (Factory Theatre), Woman #1 U/S in Life of the Mississippi Delta (Lifeline Theater) and Jessica U/S in Hand to God (Paramount Theatre). She is grateful for this opportunity and her loving community from Oklahoma City to Chicago.

Sophie Civetta (she/her) is thrilled to be making her Den Theatre debut with this fantastic team! Sophie a Chicago-based actress, writer, comedian, and dancer. Make sure you catch her in the new sci-fi dramedy feature The Becomers which premiered at Cannes Film Festival and is running in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles this fall. Some of Sophie’s other most recent credits include, Camelot Lost and Chekhov's Bong: Uncle Vanya (The Edge Theatre), Doomscroll: The Web Series, and Alice in Wonderland (Berger Cultural Center). Sophie’s training comes from her BA at Northwestern University, The Second City Conservatory, and The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland. Garrett Wiegel

"Embrace change, learn from failure, capitalize on success...and be at least a touch optimistic." Garrett Wiegel (he/him) is an actor based in Chicago. He was most recently in The Rustin Arrest, one of many short plays in the Black Men Talk Play Festival. Other credits include Orpheus in the New Year (The Artistic Home), Party at the Pantheon and Lane Call (The Factory Theater), Boeing Boeing and Charley’s Aunt (Saint Sebastian Players Theatre). Garrett studied acting at the Chicago College of Performing Arts and the Meisner Technique at The Artistic Home. He’s excited to be reunited with some of his past cast-mates and create some thought provoking theatre with the cast and crew of Within A Shadow.

I live in-between.' - Nina Simone " Clarence Young (He/Him) Is Chicago actor/singer-songwriter/musician and is excited to be making his debut performance at Den theatre, in association with Red Theatre, and an amazing group of talented performers to produce an original work made for film and adapted for the stage that the director has put so much heart and work into. Clarence’s Chicago credits include House Musical - Coming of Age In the Age of House (Camp Songs Productions), orkshop of CARGO: A Semi Musical (Chicago Dramatist). Prior to that he was in a workshop of Is You Is (Chicago Theater Festival) & Pirates of Penzance (Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company). Clarence is a Chicago native and is also a vocalist in local band Family Junket. He wants to thank his family and friends for their continued support.

"Embarrasment is fake, and you are real!" Cayla Jones (She/Her) is a Chicago-based Actor, Stage Manager, Director and Educator. Since graduating from Illinois State University in 2019, she has had the opportunity to pursue Theater Education at Chicago Children’s Theater as an Education Associate & Teaching Artist. She has previously Stage Managed and is a company member with Avalanche Theatre in Chicago. Previous Chicago Credits include: Where the Air Meets the Water (Avalanche Theater), Plays with a Purpose (Black Ensemble Theater), Lift Every Voice (Collaboration Theater), Hertha Nova (Imposters Theater Company), Plaid as Hell (Babes with Blades Theatre Co.), as well as These Shining Lives (The Villages, FL.). Theater for social change is near to Cayla’s heart and she is grateful for the constant support of her family and friends!

"I Live so I Love"- RM of BTS Destiny Garner (she/her) is a lighting designer attending Columbia College Chicago for her BA in Theatre Design and Technology, and her credits include Creature (CCC) and Minutes and Seconds (CCC). Destiny has also served as an assistant lighting designer on shows like Sunday in The Park with George (CCC) and Pippin (CCC). She is currently co-designing Columbia’s fall mainstage production of Fabulation Or, The Re-Education Of Undine, directed by Aaron Reese-Boseman, as she enters her junior year. Destiny is delighted to be working with the Den Theatre for the first time, and she is thrilled to be collaborating with other talented artists to create such an inspiring story!

"Make it worth your Time" Devonte E. Washington is very excited to join this project as Sound Designer for this project . He is a freelance sound designer and engineer that has worked with dance companies, festivals and events around the city . He has also worked with theaters such as Congo Square, Aurora Theater Works, Pop Magic Productions and Greenline Performing Arts Center . He frequently works sound at Greenline Performing Arts Center and The Gary Comer Youth Center. He is proud to be a member of this production team as well as MPAACT company member and looks forward to you seeing this.
Moises Diaz

“But in times of crisis, the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers.” - King T’Challa, Black Panther Moises Diaz (He/Him) is a Theatre Artist based in Chicago focusing mainly in costume design. Moises is a graduate of the Univerisity of Wisconsin-Parkside with a Bachelor of Art in Theate Arts. His recent work include Costume Design in The Hatmakers Wife and Krugozor both at Theatre Evolve and Assistant Props for Anitgone at Retwist Theatre. He is a company member at Theatre Evolve here in Chicago, a theatre company commited to hiring 50% early career artists. Recent technical credits include: Romeo and Juliet - Oak Park Festival Theater; In His Hands, Pro-Am - First Floor Theater; How I Learned What I Learned, Welcome to Matteson - Congo Square Theater; The Writer - Steep Theater; When You Awake..., Arabia!, Arabia! - The Plagiarists, London Road - Shattered Globe (Jeff Award Winner for Best Musical: Midsize) and Hamlet, Caveman Play, Indoor Cats, and Vinegar Tom - Red Theater. Since moving to the city she has also become an accomplished Stage Manager and Company Manager, along with many other design and production titles at various theaters. Elohim Peña

"'Everything seems really simple on paper until you take a camera out of the box.' - David Fincher" Elohim Peña is thrilled to collaborate with the director on adapting her original work for the screen. After transitioning behind the camera, Elohim made a notable directorial debut with PeloLove (2022), which was selected for Dances with Films L.A. and premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatres. The short film was also featured at the Micheaux Film Festival and earned four nominations, including Outstanding Directing in a Comedic Short. Based in Chicago, notable acting credits include the lead (Kerry Reynosa) in I Dream of Psychopomp (2021), as well as appearances in Power Book IV and Chicago Med. Elohim has worked with esteemed theater companies such as Park Square, Frank Theatre, Market Garden Theatre, Open Window Theatre, Theatre Coup d’État, Teatro del Pueblo, and Remy Bumpo, among others.
Andres Aurelio

"When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too." - Paulo Coehlo Andres Aurelio (he/him) is a Mexican-American director of photography and independent film producer based in Chicago. His work focuses on children's perspective and understanding of their culture, heritage, urban environment and personal identity. Notable work like Marias (2022). screenings in various showcases and festivals such as Chicago On Screen Showcase and the Chicago Children's International Film Festival. His passion for filmmaking reaches beyond production. Aiming to create a foundation for future independent filmmakers to view Chicago's film community as the highest standard in filmmaking, he has founded and coordinated the annual Cariño Film Festival since 2022. A youth focused fest set on providing emerging filmmakers with critical & financial resources, connecting them with local community programs and establishing cinematography workshops.

"Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working." - Pablo Picasso Kevin Phan (he/him) is a queer Los Angeles-based actor, singer, and dancer. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in acting from the University of Southern California (as well as a minor in Cinematic Arts), he is also a director, writer, and cast member of the sketch comedy troupe, Trifecta. Kevin is incredibly proud of his dear friend, LaRose Washington. TV: Better Things (FX), Chicago PD (NBC), Leverage: Redemption (Amazon), Angelyne (Peacock), Kickin' It (Nickelodeon).
